I ask for a non-smoking room. They give me the room which smell very bad and I ask to change but they do not have any so I have to pay extra to upgrade the room which is not worth the money when compare with the others. If I can refund the money I would have changed the hotel.

The room was big and well furnished. Not too old. Excellent buffet breakfast.
Really overpriced (I paid more than 100$ per night). Construction noise even on a Sunday afternoon. Nescafé for breakfast.

Location and friendliness of staff. Staff are truly excellent, helpful and polite and very attentive. Cleaning staff did an excellent job of cleaning what was there.
This hotel is way past it's "use by" date. Once you are past the new lobby, it smells. A mixture of damp and very stale smoke and "dirty socks". The walls are basically marked beyond cleaning, the carpets are worn stained pices of rubbish and i would not run the air conditioner because of the amount of dirt around the outlet. I had originally pre paid for 7 nights non refundable. It was so bad I booked into another hotel and just paid the extra hotel costs simply to get out of Suriwongse. NEVER AGAIN!!!

The staff from the hotel were helpful and friendly. Our pick-up was on time and the 10 mins ride to the hotel was delightful in the mini bus. Upon reaching, the staff had all the documents ready for me to proceed with check-in. I completed my check-in in less than 10mins. A staff from the hotel followed us to our rooms and clearly explained how the switches operated and numbers to call if we needed more help. The beds and pillows were comfortable to sleep in. The rooms were nicely maintained and cleaned daily. We were given complimentary bottles of water each day. The rooms were sufficiently sound proof as we had good night sleep and noises could not be heard. I was surprise when the front desk told me the rooms were not newly renovated but were at least 5 year old. Definitely well maintained! The hotel is conveniently located as the night bazaar was just outside on the main road. There were a few restaurant surrounding the hotel. Starbucks, McDonald's and Burger King are also available. Boots is also available about 5-10 mins walk away. Numerous massage places are around the hotel. No worries if you need a massage during the night. Private taxis, tuk tuk and hotel vehicles are readily available outside the hotel if you need to travel abit further. The breakfast provided by the hotel was good and they made the effort to keep the trays filled up. During my 3 nights of stay, I've noticed the hotel actually do have their selection of food changed. So no worries about having to eat the exact same thing everyday. There is a tour desk available at the hotel lobby should you need to arrange for a day tour.
The pool was not available during my stay. We had to take the hotel transport to another location for the pool. The transport is only available from 10am - 4pm at 2 hour intervals.

Location was excellent
The hotel was older than displayed on the website and undergoing renovations that looked to progressing at a very slow pace.

The room and bathroom were both very spacious and well equiped. The room included a large L-shaped sofa. Staff were particularly efficient and I was surprised at how good the breakfast was - catering for European favourites as well as Thai and Chinese. The hotel is ideally located for the night bazaar.

I have stay in this hotel before , I don't feel good and convenence now it's because the main entrance and the hotel reception move to the back side road. I stay one night here. After my visit to MeiSai ,I returned back to Chiang Mai I stay in DuangTawan Hotel for 2 nights , best and good hotel . Thank's You.

The rooms were very nice, and the breakfast buffet was great. Free internet is provided, although for only one computer in a room (difficult if more than one person has a laptop). The hotel is located just next to the Night Market, which was a perfect for our family. Cheap food and shopping until very late at night, and the rooms were not noisy at all.
There wasn't a swimming pool, although they did try to give us directions to another pool. Also, the hotel was under construction, making moving through the hotel slightly cumbersome, but it wasn't a problem at all, and we did not notice any noise.

When we arrived we got a room that was not to the standard we expected and we asked for an upgraede. We did get the upgrade to a much better room for reasonable additional payment. The service of the staff and friendlyness was exellent. The breakfast buffet was great and we liked the location very much. It was right in middle of the night market and the location kept us busy finding nice things to buy at the market.
We had a long stay at the hotel and it does not have any swimming pool and that is a downside when the temprature is close to 40deg during the day. The air pollution in Chaing Mai was surprisingly bad but that has nothing to do with the hotel. We got a good value for money but I think we would not stay there again unless we had access to a swimming pool in a nearby hotel (walking distance)

The location is good and close to the Night market, Saturday and Sunday markets. The building is under renovation and it would be much better, when completed. I stayed there for 3 nights in March 2012 and found the hotel to be comfortable and the food reasonable. Presently, the hotel is rather old and a little rundown but would be better upon completion of the current renovation. Overall - Fair.
The hotel is old and need refurbishing and upgrading. Need to project a more modern hotel environment with better amenities.

Great location, friendly staff and very nice rooms with a really nice bathroom and a great shower. Hotel is currently under construction but we couldn't really tell. Breakfast buffet was good and the hotel was clean and safe. The big plus here is definitely the location.
A little expensive for what ya get. No pool.

The SURWONGSE is perfectly place for shopping any were and mainly night market.. But it would have been very nice if hotel told us that it was under renovation ,no pool at all accept for another hotel 15 minutes away which certainly stuffed up our weekend , kids love to swim when they want not when transport is available..The day manager some rude arrogant male was only persistant in telling me they have pool available at another place ,so what . Then when you went down for breakfast full of hungry students who seem to have competition to see how much food they can fit on their plates and 200 people do not fit into a room that should hold only 60 people.Stand up to eat no thanks , and the hygeine factor very bad,,,,,,,,we actually went out and paid for breakfast at hotel across road. ... NEVER AGAIN WILL I STAY AT A MOVEINPICK HOTEL INCLUDING SURIWONGSE.....ALL MANAGEMENT INTERESTED IN IS MAKING MONEY , NOT SERVICE OR ASSISTANCE ...I TRAVELL EVERY 4 WEEKS FROM AUSTRALIAON BUSINESS AND THIS IS TRULY MY WORST EXPERIENCE
restraunt facilities very very poor and dirty .. Room carpet filthy. Rude manager ....

The hotel is under rennovation, so everything is so mess, the facilities are extremly old, and the room is not clean. In additional, the water is not even warm for shower, I complained to the receptionist at 11pm, no reply, then call back, the receptionist told me that they can not do anything with water which is not warm, because the hotel is under rennovation. I got upset, and called to their manager on duty, after 20 minutes discussion, the final proposal is to pack my luggage at 12pm, and move to another building which has hotter water for shower! It is a big joke!

Although located is a very busy area it was very private and peaceful inside the hotel.
It would be good if you could allow customers to check in early if they arrive early in the morning. There should be more variety of food for breakfast.
